The Horse Adjutant

The Horse Adjutant brought to the concentration camp. Upon arrival, there was another selection, but this time no gas chamber. There was also no food, except a single piece of bread per prisoner, and this small piece of bread ended up having to last 8 days at the time when we had no idea when we would ever get food again. The conditions in the camp were atrocious. At one point I was grouped with 800 prisoners and crammed into a single barracks. At night the doors were locked; this resulted in hundreds dy- ing of asphyxiation. I survived, and was liberated on April 15th, by the Americans.”
