Hap Levy, President, Holocaust Documentation and Education Center Linda Medvin, Multicultural Curriculum Development/Training Special, Broward County Schools Ken Moskowitz, Director, Jewish Family Services and his staff Merle R. Saferstein, Director of Educational Outreach, Holocaust Documentation and Educa- tion Center - I love you all dearly. May God protect you and may your dreams be nourished by freedom. Ilene Lieberman and all the commissioners Special thanks to Roman Kent, Sol Kagan, and Greg Schneider and the claims conference in New York for their constant caring and helping of survivors all over the world, including acceptance of our applications and petitions to negotiate for the different compensations available from the Ger- man government. With their help the German government accepted many of our petitions. And not just ours; through their negotiations they have helped Holocaust survivors from all over the world, especially in their final years. My new friends from Poland: Kamil Kmak and his bride to be Agnieszka Lach Anna Kurdzielewicz, niece of Wiktor Mordarski and her husband Piotr Kurdzielewicz Alicja Blicharz, who gave Kamil the photo of Paszek My associates for Holocaust education programs survivors The entire board of the South Florida Holocaust Organization I owe thanks to many people for helping me keep the promise I made to my father; to tell the story of my life to everyone who would listen. But my dear friend, Fran Klauber, is the one person who stands out among them. I have known Fran for almost 30 years and her list of achievements dur- ing that time is impressive by any standard. Fran is the first person I knew who actively promoted the implementation of Holocaust and genocide education and awareness in the public school system. That inspired me to follow her lead and deliver my message to thousands of young people throughout South Florida. Her political involvement brought me resources that would never have been available to me without her assistance. Fran is a former City Commissioner for the City of Sunrise, a ten-year board member of the Holocaust Survivors of South Florida and the first woman inducted into the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. Fran is also a second generation survivor. In 1994, Fran introduced me to her then 23 year old son, Adam Klauber. He was a second year law student and offered to help me draft a petition to The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. That Petition, which took many hours to complete, led to reparations being paid to Holocaust Survivors who were previously denied, including me. Adam also spoke to the Holocaust Survivors of South Florida on many occasions always promising that he would do his part to make sure that his generation and the ones that follow will never forget. Fran, thank you for what you’ve done for me and for being an inspiration to all who know you. Dr Jozef Skrabski old photos of Grybow Jolanta Kruszniewska, photos and advice
