In other words, these men should remember the real meaning of the word ‘minister’ and truly minister to the men, women and children of their parish.” ; : —o— As a man of God the minister must pay no attention to gossip, and keep the mem­ bers of his family from the same evil habit, or sooner or later they will find themselves on the rack of trouble and consequent disturbance. “Lord, keep my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking guile.”:; He must not become easily irritated on account of criticisms that reach his ears,. If they are worth while he should benefit by them; but if not it is best to let them pass. F ruit 1. Fruit of the Thoughts.

Behold, I will bring evil upon this peo­ ple, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened . . . Jer. 6:19. 2. Fruit of the Heart. I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king . . . Isa. 10:12. 3. Fruit of the Lips. By him therefore let us offer the sac­ rifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name. Heb. 13:15. 4. Fruit of the Hands. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Prov. 31:31. 5. Fruit of the Doings. I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man accord­ ing to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings. Jer. 17:10. 6 . Fruit of Labor. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor. Phil. 1 :22. 7. Fruit of the Spirit. For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil. 4:13. 3. His Foes. Abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. 1 Pet. 2:11. 4. His Friends. These all died in faith . . . and con­ fessed that they were strangers and pil­ grims on the earth. Heb. 11:13. 5. His Home. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Heb. 11:10.
