Choosing a colour palette for an interior comes naturally to those who have an eye for colour. However, for many, an understanding of some colour basics and the colour wheel can help create aesthetically pleasing colour schemes. 03. COLOUR SCHEMING
A colour scheme is never just about the paint colour. Floor finishes, furniture and soft furnishings are part of the scheme too.
Collating samples of fabrics and finishes help to build up a picture and ensure a cohesive scheme is achieved. Looking at colour and fabrics on screen can be deceptive and physical samples are necessary to determine actual colours. Any strong colour chosen for the carpet or furniture, for example, will influence colour choice in other finishes. A red carpet will require a different treatment than a black or grey carpet. Generally there is a process that can be followed for inspiration when creating a colour scheme. Some of themost pleasing colour schemes follow no rule or reason, defy logic and yet create outstanding results. In this section we look at the Crown Paints SCAN reference , our Design Colour Collection and the colour wheel to help you choose the right colour for your project.
