Nature in the workplace has many positive benefits, there is a huge array of evidence to support health and well being is improved with access to nature in some form. Garden views, plants, living walls can be described as direct sources, indirect includes natural finishes, representations of nature, water elements. The question that is not often asked is why?Why is nature considered therapeutic? One reason relates to how the eye operates. At work we can spend a long time focusing on a task, when we are surrounded by nature our eye moves aroundmore frequently, we
are able to exercise the eyemuscle by changing focus fromdistant to near objects. This is less tiring, we feel restored and our nervous systems are relaxed (Ellard 2015). Sensory elements in the workplace can offer a welcome diversion, not a distraction but a place where the eye can relax fromhigh focus work. Aesthetically pleasing design is proven to uplift themood and well being, people are happier in a nice environment.

Citrusy shades like C0512Y are uplifting while deep teal J1082B anchors the palette and green grey H1610E is softer than white but still very neutral.
Sludgymustard B8361V and deep chalkymushroom A9160D add subtle, stylish colour.
