As the founder of the first concert band at Lewis and Clark Community College in 1978 and an adjunct faculty member to this day, Bud has dedicated himself to nurturing the talents of future generations, sowing the seeds of inspiration in fertile minds. Through the Wings and Strings Music Shop, which he co-owned with his beloved wife Gail from 1995 to 2004, Bud fostered a community of musicians, a haven where melody met camaraderie and passion flourished. Together, they orchestrated a harmony of business and pleasure, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who crossed their threshold. Despite the allure of the spotlight, Bud’s devotion to family remained steady. When Johnny Mathis extended an invitation to join his band and traverse the winding roads of fame, Bud declined, choosing instead the quiet rhythm of domestic bliss.
