November 15, 2024 | Araby Trail (Palm Springs) 3.5 MILES | MODERATE

This “trail of the stars” climbs above the Bob Hope Estate and the home of the late Steve McQueen. The trail offers beautiful scenery of both nature and architecture. This is a short but sweet “exercise” trail, so expect to be pleasantly challenged.

Embark on an adventure through the rugged landscape of Indio Badlands, where the arid desert terrain meets stunning geological formations. This hike offers a unique blend of stark, sunbaked cliffs, winding canyons, and expansive desert vistas that reveal the raw beauty of the region.

January 24, 2025 | Pushwalla Palms & Canyon Trail (Desert Hot Springs) 5 MILES | MODERATE

This hike, found within the Coachella Valley Preserve, starts above Horseshoe Palms and descends into Pushwalla Palms Canyon. With the right amount of rain, a stream sometimes runs through the long grove of palms growing in Pushwalla Canyon. The preserve offers a variety of hikes suitable for all levels.

February 7, 2025 | La Quinta Cove to Lake Cahuilla Trail (La Quinta) 6 MILES | MODERATE/CHALLENGING The La Quinta Cove to Lake Cahuilla Trail offers hikers a scenic journey through the picturesque desert landscape of La Quinta. This 6-mile in-and-out trail takes you from the LQ Cove Oasis to the tranquil Lake Cahuilla, providing breathtaking views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The hike includes sections of rocky terrain, mild inclines, and a wash, making it moderately challenging but accessible for most hikers with a moderate fitness level.

March 14, 2025 | Horsethief Creek via Cactus Spring Trail (Mountain Center) 6 MILES | MODERATE/CHALLENGING This trail gets your heart pumping as you ascend and descend through areas of thick vegetation, past fields of cacti, and enjoy the shade of pinyon pines. We’ll come across an abandoned dolomite mine, marvel at the simplicity of the horse corral, and enjoy a snack break down by the creek.
