Did you learn anything about your own company during the process?
To be honest, I think it is only when you have to explain the scale of these achievements that you realise yourself the enormity of what you and your team have done!
Did you engage other team members?
I authored most of the entry myself, but I tried to gather and present perspectives from the whole team. And our senior team all reviewed the entry together before we submitted it. Now you’ve won an Award, what advice would you give to others thinking of applying? Go for it! A King’s Award is the greatest accolade that can be bestowed on a UK business. Your team will grow in pride and confidence [and] your customers will see independent confirmation that you are in the top tier of your industry. And as a team you will be forced to pause, reflect on your achievements, and make memories which will fuel the next phase of development for your business. How will you use your Award to promote your business going forward? Even a few years on, our Awards continue to raise our profile, and spark interest from everyone we come across. I’ve lost count of how many visitors have walked into our conference room, seen the certificates, and opened the ensuing meeting with: “Wow! Tell me how you came to win those?”
Would you consider applying again in future?
Having been honoured to receive two Awards for International Trade we certainly aspire to complete a hat-trick! However, we’re keen to celebrate every aspect of our business, so I would like to think that when the opportunity arises, our next Award submission may be for either Innovation or Sustainable Development - so watch this space! What do you consider to be the benefits of being a King’s Award holder? First and foremost, the pride the Awards have instilled within our team. They also send a powerful message to current and potential clients and partners which has helped to attract new business.
