Norwich-based Delta Fire Ltd continues to demonstrate what modern British manufacturing can achieve, combining world-class engineering with a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and innovation. Established in 1990, the company has grown from a small workshop into a globally recognised leader in firefighting equipment, supplying customers in over 100 countries and protecting lives across some of the world’s most high-risk environments. Following its rare achievement of winning two King’s Awards for Enterprise in 2025 – for Innovation and Sustainable Development – Delta Fire has entered a new phase of accelerated growth, driven by international expansion, defence sector opportunities and continued investment in advanced manufacturing. This recognition culminated in a proud moment at Windsor Castle, where founder Ian Gardner and grandson Jordon King were honoured to meet His Majesty The King. The occasion marked not only a celebration of Delta Fire’s achievements, but was a powerful reflection of its journey from a family-run Norfolk business to a globally respected manufacturer at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. “For us, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. Our responsibility is not only to design equipment that saves lives today, but to ensure we are building a business that protects the future for generations to come,” says Jordon. A flagship design At the heart of this success is Delta Fire’s flagship Attack Pro nozzle range, which continues to set new standards in firefighting performance. Designed using advanced flow simulation and real-world operational feedback, the nozzle delivers enhanced cooling, improved visibility and greater firefighter
safety. Now adopted by the vast majority of UK fire and rescue services, it is gaining traction across global markets, particularly within defence, marine and industrial sectors. Building on this innovation pipeline, Delta Fire is advancing new technologies to address emerging global risks. Developments such as the Hydro-Wall Hose, designed for wildfire and battery energy storage system fires, reflect the company’s forward- looking approach to climate-driven challenges. As extreme weather events and complex fire risks increase worldwide, Delta Fire is positioning itself at the forefront of next-generation firefighting solutions. To support this growth, the company continues to invest significantly in its UK manufacturing base. Recent expansion of its Norfolk headquarters includes increased production capacity, advanced CNC machining, robotics and dedicated R&D space. This builds on its £5.5 million state-of-the-art facility, integrating automation and digital manufacturing to enhance precision and efficiency. Sustainability remains embedded across every aspect of the business. Building on its milestone of achieving net zero across scopes 1, and 2, Delta Fire continues to invest in renewable energy, resource efficiency and circular product design. Its solar- powered facility, battery storage systems and plans for further renewable generation demonstrate a long-term commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining high-performance manufacturing. These initiatives build on earlier foundations such as solar generation, rainwater harvesting and global tree planting projects, which have already offset significant carbon emissions. Clear vision for the future The company’s growth is underpinned by strong leadership and a clear generational vision. Ian’s 35-year journey has laid the foundations for a

globally respected brand, while the next generation continues to drive sustainability, innovation and strategic direction, ensuring Delta Fire remains agile and forward-thinking. Looking ahead, Delta Fire is focused on expanding its presence in international markets, particularly across defence, nuclear and energy sectors, where demand for high-performance and sustainable firefighting solutions is increasing. Major infrastructure projects and emerging risks present significant opportunities, positioning the company for continued growth over the coming decade. From Windsor Castle to frontline firefighting environments across the globe, Delta Fire continues to demonstrate how British engineering excellence can lead on both innovation and sustainability. Its mission remains clear: to design and manufacture the very best equipment to protect lives, while safeguarding the future.
