PAST WINNER INTERVIEW
Penta Consulting
AWARD CATEGORY: International Trade SIZE OF COMPANY: Medium WHERE BASED: Epsom, Surrey TYPE OF BUSINESS: Professional Services / Managed Solutions PROFILE: Paul Clark JOB TITLE: Chairman & Founder
Did you learn anything about your own company during the process?
What inspired Penta Consulting to apply for a King’s Award? We have always been proud of our international footprint. After years of sustained growth, we felt we had a story worth telling. The King’s Award is the highest accolade of business excellence and we wanted to see how we measured up against the very best in the UK and earn a seal of approval that resonates globally. Being honoured with this award led to Penta Consulting becoming the only business in our sector to have three such accolades, having previously been honoured with two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2006 and 2014. How did you prepare your submission, and what key areas did you focus on? Preparation was rigorous. We focused heavily on our ability to maintain year-on-year growth despite global economic shifts. We focused on our “Global Compliance” framework and our “Social Responsibility” initiatives. We wanted to show that our commercial success was built on a foundation of integrity and community support.
Absolutely. The application acts as a high-level audit. It prompted us to take a top-down view of our data over several years. We realised just how resilient our business has become. Seeing our growth metrics laid out so clearly reaffirmed that the growth of some of our key accounts really demonstrated the hard work of our internal team and our network of global resources.
Company Background
Penta Consulting provides Technology Resource Solutions to the global ICT and Technology sectors. Since our inception in 1998, we have expanded our reach into a truly global footprint. We deliver high-level talent and strategic solutions to some of the world’s most influential brands.
How did your team contribute to the application?
It was an extremely collaborative effort. While our leadership team set the vision, our finance, operations, and marketing teams were instrumental in gathering the granular data required. It became a point of pride across the office with everyone feeling like they had a stake in proving that Penta is a world-class organisation.
