The Avantis Education Team
Avantis Education, based in Gloucester, is a global leader in educational technology, providing simple, scalable classroom solutions to over two million students in more than 90 countries. Avantis is honoured to receive The King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for its flagship product ClassVR – the world’s leading virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) solution designed exclusively for education. Pioneering EdTech solutions Since its founding, Avantis has consistently identified and responded to gaps in the education technology market. Its first major innovation was a handheld device launched ahead of mainstream adoption of tablets, establishing Avantis as an early pioneer in classroom technology and helping shape the vision for immersive learning. Recognising the transformative potential of VR and AR in education, Avantis launched ClassVR in 2017. The ClassVR solution combines purpose- built hardware, curriculum-aligned content, and intuitive classroom management tools into one easy to use platform. Through ClassVR, students of all ages can engage with enriching educational experiences via its dedicated content engine, the Eduverse, which contains hundreds of thousands of resources spanning subjects including maths, science, art, history, geography and English. Avantis’ ongoing dedication to and investment in ClassVR’s evolution ensures schools benefit from innovative and relevant learning solutions that foster curiosity, ignite imagination, and enhance engagement.
Recent innovations include: • Xcelerate: designed specifically for high school and further education, featuring an innovative 90° flip visor that enables seamless transitions between headset and classroom. • Xplorer: developed in direct response to demand for advanced VR/AR, Xplorer delivers richer learning with 4K Ultra-HD display, faster processing, and improved storage. • EduverseCTE: the first immersive career and technical education library, delivering authentic workplace simulations and AI-powered soft skills training. • Eduverse+: a library of advanced content suites that empowers educators to create advanced, dynamic, AI-powered experiences. The latest innovation Since entering the King’s Awards for Enterprise, Avantis has launched EduverseTHRIVE, a purpose- built wellbeing and inclusion solution designed to support sensory regulation, emotional readiness, and inclusive learning. Developed in direct response to feedback from mainstream and SEND educators, EduverseTHRIVE is designed to support different needs, emotions and energy levels, empowering students to manage their needs through fully interactive, customisable VR sensory rooms. The first of its kind in the immersive education technology market, EduverseTHRIVE offers a scalable, classroom-based alternative to traditional sensory provision. Physical sensory rooms – often costing between £5,000 and £15,000 – remain out of reach for many schools, leaving teachers without immediate, in-class

tools to support regulation and inclusion. EduverseTHRIVE aims to help solve this operational crisis, transforming any classroom or school space into a calming, inclusive environment where every learner can reset, regulate, and thrive. A milestone achievement ClassVR has redefined the role of VR/AR in education. What started as an idea developed by educators has grown into a trusted global solution used by more than two million students worldwide. Each innovation has built upon the last, introducing new capabilities and richer experiences while maintaining practicality and ease of use that schools require. “This award reflects not only our commitment to innovation, but the meaningful impact ClassVR is having in classrooms around the world every day,” says Huw Williams, Chief Executive Officer. “Most importantly, it’s a testament to the passion of our people and the trust customers place in us to deliver technology that truly makes a difference.” Receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise is a landmark company milestone for Avantis Education and recognition of its commitment to making virtual reality a meaningful and accessible part of modern education.
