AdamWalden is an Associate Director in the Assurance Services department with over 7 years of manager experience. Adam completed his articles at Grant Thornton, Johannesburg. From 2011 to 2013 Adam worked at Grant Thornton NYC. He was responsible for audits of listed entities and large private companies. In June 2013 he rejoined the Johannesburg office. Adam has extensive experience in large audits of private companies as well as those listed on the JSE. His experience in large assignments both in the private and public sectors and his strong technical background including IFRS, JSE Listing requirements and Insurance Regulations.
Chan-Ré has 8 years’ experience in the financial services sector both in audit and advisory. She started her career at a big 4 audit firm in South Africa and has been exposed to the financial services sectors within USA, UK, UAE and Africa. She is successful in helping clients to achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, improve internal controls, and reduce financial and operational risk. Since 2012, Chan-Ré’s,client experience consisted of major businesses in South Africa and the rest of Africa. She performed audit and advisory work in the areas of investment banking, corporate treasuries, medical schemes (insurance related), asset managers, development banking and business banking. Her client experience includes Nedbank, Old Mutual, Investec, SBV Services, Peregrine Holdings, Medscheme and Atlas Mara Limited.
Michelle is an Associate Director in the Financial Services division of BDO. She has 13 years’ experience in a big 4 audit firm in South Africa, specialising in banking and stockbroking. She is also a member of the BDO Specialised Valuations Group. She has gained significant valuation experience of financial instruments including unlisted debt and derivatives. She has particular experience in project managing group engagements that include operations in several countries in Africa and also engagements with head offices in North America and Europe. Her client experience includes major corporations in South Africa and the rest of Africa, and includes inter-alia Absa, Nedbank, Citigroup, State Bank of India, Prescient Securities and Sygnia Securities. During this time, Michelle also performed assurance work in other financial services sectors including private equity, corporate finance, treasuries and exchange traded funds.
