A t Cedarhurst of Salina, Dining Cook Bob Guerra brings a unique blend of culinary expertise, a passion for woodworking, and a deeply caring spirit that has left a lasting mark on the

experience but also fosters a sense of comfort and familiarity in their daily lives.

Beyond the kitchen, Bob’s influence extends into the personal touches he brings to Cedarhurst. His woodworking and laser-printing hobby has become a source of joy for the community. With a talent for creating unique, handcrafted items, Bob has made nameplate signs for every manager at the Salina community. “I loved being able to put a smile on their face,” Bob said. “They are supportive, and I feel this is my way of showing appreciation for them.” Each piece he creates is a testament to his thoughtful nature and his genuine desire to contribute positively to the workplace atmosphere. Bob’s gestures of kindness do not go unnoticed. Alex Neff, Divisional Director of Operations, admires the personal impact that Bob has on the community, both in and out of the dining room. “What makes Bob stand out is that he’s not just passionate about working in the kitchen; he truly wants to make residents, staff and families happy,” Alex noted. “By having such a strong passion and a friendly personality, the entire Cedarhurst of Salina community radiates positivity and happiness.” In fact, Alex and Almir Sajtovic, President of Cedarhurst Senior Living, both received handmade wooden signs from Bob, a gesture that, in Alex’s words, exemplifies the

community. From creating delicious meals to crafting personalized nameplates, Bob goes out of his way to ensure that each day is a little brighter for both residents and staff.

Bob’s dedication to his role goes beyond his culinary skills. Known for his warm and approachable nature, Bob finds joy in building connections with the residents he serves. “What I enjoy most about working at Cedarhurst is getting to know the residents,” he shared. “I always want to ensure the residents enjoy their meals and am always listening to them regarding their likes, dislikes, and opinions.” This commitment to meeting the needs of residents not only enhances their dining
