Art, Stories, and Connection at Cedar Creek of Logansport COMMUNITY Celebrating

C edar Creek of Logansport recently hosted a vibrant celebration of community and creativity, unveiling a mural painted by students from the Logansport High School Art Club alongside an inspiring art show featuring works by resident artists. The event, which highlighted the importance of intergenerational connections, showcased the talents of local youth and the life stories of Cedar Creek’s residents through art. The mural, designed and painted by eight students under the direction of Logansport art teacher Nikki Ingalls, captured the essence of Logansport’s rich history. Iconic local landmarks, including Mr. Happy Burger, Felix the Cat, The State Theatre, and a historic train, were chosen

in collaboration with Cedar Creek residents, who shared their fond memories to help shape the design. This project not only brought history to life for the students but also opened doors to engaging conversations between generations. “It’s been interesting because a lot of the students had never seen some of the things featured on the mural,” said Jennifer Poole, Executive Director of Cedar Creek of Logansport. “They weren’t alive yet. It’s been fascinating to hear them learn from the residents as they talk about the past.” The mural, with blank spaces left for future additions, serves as an evolving testament to Logansport’s community and its ever-growing story.
