government day The Leadership Midland Class of 2026 spent the day discovering what it truly takes to keep Midland running strong. Inside City Council Chambers, the class met with Mayor Lori Blong and the City Manager’s Office to discuss current civic development, community priorities, and the issues shaping Midland’s future. From there, participants went beyond the front doors of government with exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences from touring the Midland Central Fire Station and exploring operations at the Midland County Correctional Facility, to engaging with recruits at the Midland Police Department Training Facility.
Government Day gives our future community leaders a firsthand look at the people, planning, and public servants who keep our city safe, growing, and moving forward.
