Kappa Alpha Psi ® Foundation Welcomes New Board Members
R ecently, the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation added three new members to the Board of Directors. These distinguished professionals will bring new talent, vi- sion, and expertise to help advance the mission and vision of the Foundation. Gail Coles Johnson recently re- tired from AT&T where she served as the Assistant Vice President of Talent Development. Johnson is a seasoned human resources executive with over three decades of execution and advi- sory experience. A proven people and process strategist, Gail is a design and implementation expert who is able to seamlessly leverage her global network of influencers to deliver best in class solutions for her business but also as a connector for others. Johnson has sat on national boards like; The Jack and Jill Foundation, The Links Foundation, The Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and the National Black MBA Associa- tion. Johnson is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and has completed sector-specific coursework at Harvard and Cornell Universities. Sherman Kizart (Lambda Pi 1984) is the Managing Director and Founder of Kizart Media Partners, a national media sales and marketing consulting firm that partners with clients to generate greater sales that focus on revenue opportuni- ties for urban targeted media platforms. He has over 20 years of experience as a marketing specialist. Kizart is one of the country’s leading advocates and authori- ties on urban radio and multicultural media strategies and tactics. He is the Chairman of RADIO INK Magazine's Urban Advisory Council and is serves on the Board of Visitors at the Howard University John H. Johnson School of Communications. Kizart was awarded the radio in- dustry's highest recognition, the Radio
Wayne Award. He is an active member of the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter and is Chairman of the Corporate Outreach and Strategic Media Partnerships Com- mittee. Adrienne Trimble is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Na- tional Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). She is a known thought leader for advancing corporate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Prior to NMSDC, Trimble served as General Manager, Diversity & Inclusion at Toyota Motor North America where she grew the company’s diverse supplier base to reflect an increase in spend that exceeded 300 percent. She was named Advocate of the Year by the Southwest Minority Supplier Development Coun- cil and received the Corporate Leader Award and Women in Leadership Award from Rainbow PUSH. She is a graduate of Wilberforce University. In 2014, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees of her alma mater. She has also held board and committee leadership posi- tions for NMSDC and several of its regional Councils and the Billion Dollar Roundtable. "Their expertise will be extremely valuable in supporting the philanthropic causes of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.” Since 1981, the mission of the Kappa Alpha Psi ® Foundation is to provide support for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. members and others in service to communities with particular emphasis on African American communities.
