to remain peaceful and hopeful in the weeks ahead. The peaceful transi- tion of power is one of our founders' underlying principles and is necessary for our fraternity and country to move forward. Now is the time to come together as one brotherhood, united in the peaceful pursuit of our common fundamental purpose. In essence, this is spiritual. W hat I’m about to tell you is of the utmost impor- tance. The necessity of the spiritual is a crucial component in our preparedness for the before, during, and aftermath of each incident you might face. Al- though more dangerous and difficult days are to come, lodged within each of us is the tenacious strength to overcome as gallant, noble men. Re- member, there is something immortal that is evidently with us, unlike other mere mortal men. For our epicurean brother who is im- mersed in the world of lavish tastes, discriminating palates and refined pleasures resulting from a life of hard work, gratification, and enjoyment of the finer things in life is spiritual. For our dauntless brother, a warrior, your fearlessness and determination are not tamed by COVID-19, grief or swift transition. An old Kappa song that encourages you to strive to reach the golden shore is what you need. This disposition is spiritual. For our disport brother who enjoys himself unrestrainedly, the experience of getting too excited and carried away with yourself is spiritual. For our brother who believes in the Christian

hope that eternal life as a promised reward is spiritual. Life can throw a brother a curve- ball that may cause a crisis event, a chapter paralyzed, and other fraterni- ties immobilized. For your National Chaplain and the auxiliary of assistant chaplains, we understand the need to serve by making ourselves available to you is spiritual. The implausibly easy achievement of coping with ongoing family problems, finances, stress, ill- ness, grief, and conflicts with co-work- ers and neighbors is a feat that is more difficult than saying abracadabra.
