Army Navy Country Club COVID19 Response 3.30.21

CHAIRMAN AND GM MESSAGE 18 N OVEMBER 2020

Dear Members,

We hope you are all doing well and would like to assure you that we remain dedicated to both keeping as much of our facilities open as possible, and to ensuring the safety of Members, guests, and staff. Collectively, we thank everyone for their efforts so far. As you may know, Governor Northam has issued new rules for our operations. Fortunately, as we have operated conservatively to date, our current practices remain within the Governor ’ s guidelines, with the exception of public and in - person gatherings. The new guidance prohibits all public and private in - person gatherings of more than 25 individuals. A “ gathering ” includes, but is not limited to, parties, celebrations, or other social events, whether they occur indoors or outdoors.

You must know that any violation of the Governor ’ s Order faces a punishment of up to a $2,500 fine and one year in prison. Violations could also result in the Club ’ s closure.

While we appreciate everyone ’ s efforts to date, it is getting more difficult to ensure 100% Member compliance with the COVID - 19 rules. Whether it is the occasional maskless person who slips back into Stars and Stripes to get one thing, the maskless foursome congregating in the locker room for several minutes while getting changed, a few maskless people who eat and drink inside, without actually sitting at their assigned seat, or possibly large congregations of more than 25 people in the outdoor spaces, these slippages are slowly increasing our risk pro- file, and may risk our ability to keep the Club open. Thus, these slippages must end. At this point, unfortunately, all options for stopping the slippages are presently on the table.

To be clear, masks are still required inside all buildings at Arlington or Fairfax.

The only exceptions to the mask rule are if you are sitting at your assigned dining table having a meal or bever- age or working out on a piece of equipment in the Fitness Center. Masks are required at all other times to include getting up to use the restroom, checking - in for a tee time, in the locker rooms (unless using the shower), and on the dining decks if not seated at a table. Gatherings in parking lots, around the clubhouses and fire pits must re- main socially distanced, with fewer than 25 people. If you are outside and amidst a large group, and social dis- tancing is difficult, then you should put on a mask. Now, we are all in this together, but we all must do our part. If you have a fever or symptoms of COVID - 19 or known exposure to a COVID - 19 case in the prior 14 days, stay home and do not use the Club ’ s facilities. If you are inviting guests to the Club, please make sure that they too are adhering to the Club ’ s rules and guidelines on COVID - 19. Continue to wash hands frequently, practice social distancing, avoid large gatherings, and “ if you are moving, you are masked ” when around the clubhouses. Thank you again for your cooperation and support of your Club. Please re - commit to following the rules to protect our ability to keep the Club's facilities open. COVID has shown how much we value the opportunity to use the club — we cannot imagine not having it these past nine months. To- gether, we move forward, in compliance with Virginia ’ s mandates, to both keep our Club open and to keep us safe.
