Army Navy Country Club COVID19 Response 3.30.21

CHAIRMAN AND GM MESSAGE 22 MAY 2020

Dear ANCC Member,

We hope that this letter finds you well. Certainly, some of the Army Navy family are experiencing difficulty or loss at this time. Please keep those members and staff in your thoughts and prayers.

State and Local authorities will permit us to begin a phased re - opening once they believe certain factors are met. This letter states the Club ’ s plans for Phase 1 of our re - opening, which will take effect when the Governor commences Phase 1, or as soon thereafter as practical.

This is a very challenging time for all as we learn to navigate government regulations, safety, and social responsibilities of the Club. We appreciate you bearing with us as we are all in this together.

With respect to swimming, contingent on approval from the local authorities, we hope to open the Arlington Olympic pool and the Fairfax main pool for lap swimming only when Phase 1 commences. You will need to schedule your session and you must be able to swim continuously for a minimum of 30 minutes. With respect to dining, outdoor dining will become available, at greatly reduced capacity, at both campuses during Phase 1 in limited capacity, and in specific locations. Some of the outside dining will require reservations. You will not be able to access the outside dining locations through the Clubhouse. In other words, most of the Clubhouse will remain closed. With respect to guests, we will permit guests in golf only, with limitations. For example, we will allow guests for Monday - Thursday only, with one day advanced reservations. No person may be a guest in golf more than once per month, per our bylaws.

With respect to junior activities, we would like to open Sports Camp in Phase 1, but this issue is still under review.

All other operations will continue as we are doing now. There will be further announcements regarding the process for lap swimming, outdoor dining, golf guests, and Sports Camp.

As we move into Phase 1, we have taken a number of precautions. We have added MERV 13 filters to both Clubhouses to enhance air quality control. You will find hand sanitizer stands and stations throughout the Clubhouses. Staff is now screened daily and wears masks, and when applicable, gloves. 1. While we have leaned forward with the staff, an area of uncertainty is the behavior of our members and their guests. To promote safer operations, there are four simple temporary rules that we will put into effect in Phase 1, according to the guidance issued by the Virginia Department of Health, which we have modified slightly for practicality.
