Rogers Bar HR Charolais - Fall Turn-Out Bull Sale [10/18/25]

Dear Cattlemen, I would like to welcome you to Rogers Bar HR. We have been raising Charolais for over 66 years, with our focus on vital economic traits. The traits of calving ease, high weaning weights, and ease of keeping are always in the front of our minds when we are breeding and developing our cattle. The most important thing that we have done has been to develop these traits on GRASS. Our bulls will not fall apart when you turn them out. Even though we have developed our herd on grass, they excel when placed on feed tests or in the feedlots. We have won more BIF rate of gain tests than any other Charolais breeder in the nation! We just won the Florida Rate of gain test, again for the 6th time. Our herd is not one that we bought and then tried to adapt to the Southeast. Our herd was developed over the last half century on the rolling hills of southeast Mississippi and we feel that we have developed the best herd of Charolais in the United States. Our calves are not creep fed; they are developed on their mother’s milk and grass. Our ranch is located 90 miles from the Gulf in the hot, humid environment of the South, so you do not have to worry about them melting on you like a snow cone in the summer. Our selling philosophy is that we want to sell you a bull or a cow not only today, but also when you need more animals. The only way we can sell you animals in the future is by selling you a good animal today and treating you right. That was one of the best lessons my father ever taught me. Our goal is to produce cattle that will put the most pounds on the quickest and the most efficiently… and we have been doing just that! Shape of a calf has as much to do with calving ease as birth weight. There are three dimensions to cattle: height, width, and length. Length is the only dimension you can increase without causing calving difficulties. You can make a calf too tall and too wide, but you can’t make them too long. Length of body is the hardest dimension to increase; over the past 66 years we have done just that. Our bulls are long-bodied and have clean front shoulders. Look at the pictures and videos, you will see the length of our cattle. With today’s high prices, we tend to stop focusing on the little things that add to our profitability. All of us know that what goes up will come down, and so will the cattle market. We need to remember that every pound counts toward your bottom line in the high market and especially in the low market, it is important to use a bull that is easy calving, puts the pounds on, and does it with no special care. Our bulls do just that, and have been for over 66 years. Rogers Bar HR Charolais bulls have proven time and time again to be the best weight gaining Charolais in the United States. We have won more rate of gain tests than any other Charolais Breeder. The one thing we are most proud of is that the winners have not been from just one blood line, but from all our blood lines. This tells us that our entire herd is moving in the right direction. We stand behind our bulls and their calves. We do this by our willingness to purchase your calves sired by our bulls. If you have 1 or a 1,000, we want to buy them. Please give us a call when you want to sell them. If you need help selecting a bull, or if you have any questions, please give me a call at (601) 765-7751. Yours for Better Charolais, Doug Rogers
