The Bulletin: March 2020

MARCH GREETINGS As we enter into what we hope will be the waning days of winter and prepare for the upcoming outdoor season, there are no detailed topics to discuss. Instead, I have a number of various items that are of a small, yet significant, nature but need to be shared. Think of it as my “Spring Cleaning”. As with any “Spring Cleaning” some items you dust off and retain, others will be discarded because they are no longer necessary or relevant to your current situation. I’ll leave it up to you to determine the appropriate course of action . . . • Just as we did last year, March will be the final month of operating under the winter schedule. Full Tuesday service will resume beginning Tuesday, March 31st. Towards the end of March, if weather and conditions dictate, there may be some “early openings” in the Bag Room, Hut and Pub. These will be communicated in the “Weekly Happenings”. • One of the most enjoyable aspects of the month is NCAA Basketball. As always, we will be hosting a special multi-day March Madness Party in Pub37, Thursday through Sunday, March 19th through 22nd. Of course, we will have a bracket competition as well. Details will be shared via email and our social media accounts and on our Club app. • Social Media accounts?? Club App?? Yup. Join us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all the latest that’s going on around your Club. If you haven’t yet downloaded the app, you need to. It is our fastest growing form of communication. Click here for instructions. • We will all be adjusting our clocks (spring ahead) on Sunday, March 8th. I hope you take full advantage of the longer daylight hours to use the Club into the evening. • With the mild winter, we have enjoyed several days of “bonus golf”. In fact, there has been enough activity on the North Course that we will be reopening the Snack Bar on the “honor system”. A limited assortment of beverages and snacks are available for members to self- serve and sign. Since it is so early and the risk of a hard freeze is likely, it would be premature to reestablish the water fountains and ball washers. • For those of you who frequent the tennis side of the Club - a word of caution. As construction proceeds on the improvements to the indoor facility, there is a natural tendency to want to
