UoS Senior Project Manager (Estate Improvement)

The role of Senior Project Manager (Estate Improvement)

The University has developed a £300 million masterplan – a programme of investment to modernise and improve the campus so that we can provide the best facilities for our students, academic and professional staff, and the local community. The masterplan provides a framework for the future development of the campus and includes projects to provide new state-of-the-art academic and research facilities; a new student village consisting of 2,000 new student rooms on campus to support the University’s growth plans; and significant investment in the preservation of Sir Basil Spence’s famous listed buildings and surrounding landscape. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Estates (Capital & Development) and as the lead for estate improvement and minor works projects across the campus, the Senior Pro- ject Manager will lead a diverse range of refurbishment, alteration and maintenance projects to ensure that the University benefits from high-quality estates and facilities provision to support it growing academic, research, enterprise and student activities. We are seeking an individual that has demonstrable experience of leading complex refurbishment and modernisation projects typically in the £300k to £1m value range. You will have strong technical skills and will be adept at procurement and managing projects that are delivered in live, operational high public footfall environments. The University offers a compelling employer proposition including a positive approach to flexible working, significant investment in staff wellbeing and development, a very generous pension scheme and annual leave allowance, and access to campus facilities. There is also relocation support available for individuals seeking to relocate to the region to take up the position.
