New Quick Poll: What is the agreed level of accuracy for the payroll(s) of your employees / your clients?

The latest Quick Poll is now available on the CIPP news page. Undoubtedly, payroll professionals strive for 100% payroll accuracy. One of the key methods to measure performance and accuracy, is through key performance indicators (KPIs).The CIPP want to know what is the agreed level of accuracy for the payroll(s) of your employees / your clients? The pledge to pay employees accurately, timely and within legislation is embedded in every individual in the payroll society. However, payroll can be complex and extensive with the involvement of large data, which can be prone to errors. KPIs are popularly used as a tool for measuring payroll performance and inadequacies that affect payroll. From the poll results it is apparent that the majority of the audience had a target of 98 - 99% for payroll accuracy. This is not only commendable, but also anticipated when in the ‘payroll world’ due to the work involved. However those that selected the option ‘Other’, stated that there was no agreed level or they did not have k ey performance indicators (KPIs). An accuracy level of 100% came in second position with 29%. Many shared their accuracy levels sat close to 100%, which was ranging from 99.9 - 99.5%, after all there is a famo us saying of ‘p erfection is impossible, but you don't stop aiming for it ’.
