GATE LOCKS Some trailers are equipped with gate lock devices which prevent the inadvertent release of a load during transit. A spring-loaded locking mechanism keeps the gates closed, even if there is a loss of air pressure. The driver must release the gate locks before unloading. To operate the gate locks: 1. Pull the handle located on the side of the gates. This disengages the locking mechanism. 2. Continue to pull the handle until the notch engages with the latch. The gates are now free to operate. 3. The gates will lock automatically upon closing. 4. To re-engage the locking mechanism without opening the gates, push the handle down to release it from the latch.
