AIR SYSTEM The air operated components and air brake system is designed specifically for this model. Always follow sound mechanical practices and testing procedures when inspecting, testing, or maintaining the air system including suspensions, brakes, interlocks, air operated vents/valves, and misc air accessories.
Keep all air systems properly maintained.
1. Check, inspect, and repair leaking air lines and connections. 2. If hoses, tubing, or fittings require replacing do so with the same size and quality originally installed. 3. Not all air hoses, tubing, or fittings are created equal. Dot not use inferior air hoses, tubing, reservoirs, or fittings. 4. Be aware that push-in air fittings are used and they must remain properly seated to maintain an air tight seal. 5. Keep air lines protected in conduit whenever possible. 6. Rubber air hoses to the brakes are exposed to road hazards and require regular inspection and must be replaced if damaged. 7. Rubber and nylon air lines as well as pipes may be employed as air lines. 8. Keep all air reservoirs protected from road hazards as best as possible. Replace any ruptured air reservoir. Do not weld on an air reservoir. 9. Air reservoirs can be aluminum or steel and should be properly secured to the vehicle. 10. Always maintain the air system’s integrity. Do not remove or replace components without a complete understanding of the consequences. 11. Protect all exposed air lines and those in conduit when using a drill, saw, heat, or performing weld repairs. 12. Keep glad hand connections clearly marked, free of debris, and replace the seal when worn.
Use only DOT approved air hoses, tubing, reservoirs, and fittings.
