Better artwork means more profit With the exception of corporate logos, which have to be reproduced as is, there are ways to produce your artwork so that the product sells itself. For the product to sell itself, it has to be something which evokes emotions in the potential customer. In other words, the printed item needs to look like something, which not just anybody can produce from a picture easily available on the internet. We all see square photos of products all day long, so a T-shirt, mug, etc with a square picture on it, doesn’t evoke much other than indifference to your average person. You need to make the image look more artistic. We have taken 1 image and present it below (and overleaf), in different guises after having modified it on the computer to show you what we mean.

The picture on the left, is a plain boring square picture taken off the internet. Although the image is of a rather cute Cheetah cub, SO WHAT? You can print it on a T-shirt, Mug, Tile, etc, and some people will buy it, but many will walk straight past it without paying it any attention. The image on the right, has been modified in just 2 minutes. All we’ve done is take the “ eraser ” function in our image editing software, and “ rubbed out ” the edges of the images in a completely random fashion. This has eliminated the square edges, and made the image look more “ professional ”. Then we have increased the Saturation and the Contrast of the image to give it LIFE. On some some software this function is called INTENSITY.
