UCL - Director of Campus Infrastructure and Operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • To deliver an exemplary experience across all UCL sites, working with the Campus Infrastructure and Experience team, and Estates Development to create an environment which physically demonstrates our long term commitment to standards, values and ambitions. • Lead a culture which ensures the delivery of a safe, and vibrant environment for students, staff and visitors, which is aware of its responsibility to safety, accessibility and the community. • Strategic and transformation oversight for leading facility management service performance. • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and institutional requirements and recommended best practice, and oversee and co-ordinate the compilation and maintenance of essential legal records. • To lead an integrated service with academic departments, ensuring that we are providing strategic and operational support. • To lead the way, in demonstrating how our campus can be at the forefront of our sustainability agenda, working with the Sustainability team to achieve our stretching strategy and commitments. • Developing a customer-centered approach to the estate management function, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to facilitate clear lines of communication with all customers, and with particular focus

on ensuring basic standards are consistently maintained.

• To make a significant contribution at a senior level to the development and implementation of strategy, including the delivery of the Campus Experience strategy and its relationship with the Estates Development Strategy/Capital Plan. • Implementation and delivery of fire safety management, ensuring the UCL fire safety management system practices comply with all aspects of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and related fire safety legislation and recognised codes of practice. • To consider and lead across all UCL sites, including UCL East, ensuring that we work UCL wide. • Ensure Institutional strategies (e.g. research, teaching, public engagement, London Framework) and stakeholder requirements resulting in appropriate services and desirable user experience. • To provide infrastructure and operational leadership of UCL East, working in partnership with the UCL East project and Estates Development. • Working with and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders including, key internal colleagues, the NHS, and local councils.
