Our research suggests that Wales has the potential to become a particularly attractive environment for LegalTech start-ups, and is heading in the right direction. Reaching this objective will require, first of all, a significant degree of coordination and collaboration between the whole LegalTech ecosystem: the start- ups, the legal sector, local universities, Welsh Government, and other relevant stakeholders (the Law Society, SRA, etc.). It is the strength of this ecosystem, and its close-knit nature, that is most valuable for start-ups and scale-ups, as it enables a circular relationship with mutual benefits for Wales, the Welsh legal sector, and the companies involved. In the final chapter, we develop some suggestions for achieving this objective.
