1) the integration of legal technology modules as core components of the LLB curriculum offered by all Welsh universities; 2) closer collaboration with Welsh law firms and start-ups in the design and delivery of modules and courses in legal technology and innovation, and for employability purposes; 3) closer collaboration between Welsh universities to pool resources together, carry out joint research efforts, and support existing research centres and hubs in relation to the specific areas of expertise of each institution. Overall, our research paints a positive picture of the LegalTech education landscape in Wales, but it also seems to delineate the emergence of areas of expertise that characterise each institution, as demonstrated by some variance in the type and content of modules and courses offered. As we discuss below, this offers an opportunity for designing pathways to engage with Welsh universities as part of a wider ecosystem that exploits in a more effective way the expertise of each university.
