Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Department

The Chaplaincy Department is on the first floor at Arrowe Park Hospital and on the ground floor at Clatterbridge Hospital. The chapels in both hospitals are open 24 hours a day. You can go there any time for quiet prayer or peaceful time alone. Chaplains offer religious and spiritual care to anyone who wants it. Chaplains can provide support for all major religions. They also visit patients in their beds who can't go to chapel services. Support for Different Faiths If you want to see someone from your faith while you are in hospital, let the chaplaincy office know. Or ask your ward staff to contact them. The chaplains will try to arrange this.

Visits to Wards Chaplains regularly visit hospital wards. You can ask for a chaplain visit by contacting them yourself. Or your ward staff, family or friends can call them. Chaplains are on-call nights and weekends for emergency visits too. Spiritual Support Spirituality involves finding meaning, hope and purpose in life. Being ill can make you think more about these things. Chaplains are there to listen and talk through any deep questions or worries you have. Spiritual support is also about "just being there". When family or friends can't visit, chaplains can spend time with you.

Chaplain conversations are private and confidential.
