Instructions for: MultiOpaque
(For Dark or Colour Cotton Fabric and T-shirts)
Can be printed with INKJET, SUBLIMATION, and only some bigger Laser Printers
Inkjet and Laser Printable Vinyl are treated with a PU coating layer on a PET film base which gives more stability for vinyl/plotter cutting and weeding. It is a quick and simple solution for printing designs with your home inkjet or some laser printers on Dark and light fabric.
Note: Buying JG Electronics Application tape Roll (30cmx100M) works out a lot cheaper in the long run.
INSTRUCTIONS PART 1: If you have one solid image/design you want to transfer to a shirt — meaning a design without text and other little detailed pieces of art — follow these steps:
1. Set your press to 160°c and 20 seconds on heavy pressure. 2. Do not mirror your artwork, print on the matte side of the paper.
3. Cut and remove all white unprinted areas around your image, if you don’t, those white areas will transfer to your shirt. You can use scissors or a vinyl cutter to cut out the image. Use scissors only if it is not a heavily detailed design.
4. Remove the milky plastic backing from the soft, printed MultiOpaque layer. Throw away the plastic backing and keep the printed soft layer.
5. Place the soft MultiOpaque layer on your T-shirt, with the print facing up.
6. Cover with silicone paper and press for 20 seconds at 160°c.
INSTRUCTIONS PART 2: I f you have an image with text and other little detailed pieces, follow these steps: 1. Set your press to 160°c and 3 seconds. 2. Print your design with the Registration Mark option on Silhouette Studio so that your cutter knows where to cut. Do not mirror your artwork; print on the matte side of the paper. For this finer detail process, you will need a vinyl cutter.
3. Cut and remove all white unprinted areas around your image, if you don’t, those white areas will transfer to your shirt.
4. Use the milky paper-type application tape and place it over your cut-out pieces after the white areas are removed. Use a scraper/cloth to scrape or press the application tape firmly down over your cut-out pieces. Then lift the cut-out pieces with the application tape.
5. Place the application tape with the cut-out pieces on top of your shirt, the application tape will be on top
6. Wipe it firmly to your shirt with your hands. Press for 160°c and 3 seconds.
7. Open the press and wipe firmly over the application tape with a cloth until it is cooled down completely.
8. Slowly and carefully, remove the application tape (some of the print will transfer to the application tape, but it DOES NOT affect the quality of the print or the colour)
9. Place a Silicone sheet over the print and press for 160°c and 20 seconds.
PLEASE NOTE:
• When using a temperature over 160°c (290 on an old 4in1 press) will damage the glue layer and cause the print to fall off the shirt. • The use of refill inks can result in premature fading or even running due to the low quality of some ink refills • For best result: After applying the application tape, gently rub it using firm pressure with a scraper or cloth so it adheres evenly to the print without bubbles. Turn the page over and rub from the back as well and then peel the plastic backing from the application tape and print. • Washing Instructions: Wash INSIDE OUT in cold water and do not tumble dry
