Weekend hockey in Hawkesbury

weekendwith several teams vying for first place. The 50+ teams wrapped up Sunday, March 6, with the Alexandria team taking home the trophy over the Hawks with a 3-2 win in double overtime. “It was a great game,” said

Richard Picard from the Alexandria team. Derek Garand from Brockville took home the best goalie for the Alexandria team. “I don’t mind traveling to play a game,” smiled Garand. “I’d sooner do that than sit in front of the T.V.” The MVP for the 50+ Alexandria team was Luc Sabourin. The 35+ team saw quite a bit of action as well. Team Babin and CIH Academy went at it with the win in the end going to CIH Academy with a 4-1 lead. MVP went to Pat Giroux of CIH, and best goalie went to Eric Sauer also of CIH. The 18+ teams held a division A and B with the win going to Hawkesbury Hedge Trimming over A&W with a 5-4 lead for division B. It was a tight game, but the final goal went to Eric Campbell for Hawkesbury Hedge Trimming. The Best Goalie award went to Trevor Cunnings of Hawkesbury Hedge Trimming, and theMVP went to Yvon Laliberté of A&W. For division A, RB Concrete and Les Castors played a hard game with RBConcrete coming out on top with a 4-3 win in double overtime. MVP went to Simon Lacroix of RB Concrete and best goalie went to Philip Canal of Les Castors. All in all, it was a great two weekends in a row of outstanding hockey for players and fans alike.
