dinsky and Piet Mondrian were interested in the expressive potential of color and created paintings based on the relationships between different colors. Shooster’s painting is a more recent example of this trend, and it is a reminder that color can be used to create powerful and evocative works of art. As you can see by the black and white version, Shooster partially achieved his goal. It is a very tough exercise because printers and monitors cal- ibrate color differently.
“Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with its many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another purpo- sively, to cause vibrations in the soul.” - Wassily Kandinsky
