Ezekiel 38 and 39, Daniel and Revelation. Battle of Armageddon Q. What is the battle of Armaged don, and when and where w ill it be fought? A. I notice that even in novels and magazine articles “ Armageddon” is referred to and everybody seems to have a different idea o f what it is. I guess the concensus is that it is the last great battle ever to be fought on earth. Zechariah 14 tells us that just prior to the time o f the end, the nation of Israel w ill be surrounded b y all the nations o f the earth. Their armies w ill be gathered around Palestine in the Valley o f Megiddo, on the plains of Esdrae- lon. There the battle o f Armaged don will be fought. There seems to be a difference of opinion as to the time of this great conflict but I be lieve it w ill be fought just prior to the time the Lord Jesus Christ re turns with the church to set up His millennial kingdom. Q. Do you believe in the theory of organic evolution as the explanation of the origin of us all? A. I certainly do not. I believe the Bible account o f creation in every detail. I am glad, m y friend, that you said th eory of evolution, for in this you are much more candid than are others who teach evolution as if it were a fact that had been proven in the laboratory. It is a wild, unscientific, fantastic guess, theory, hypothesis that requires as much credulity on the part of peo ple to believe it as it would to be lieve the old Roman and Grecian myths. I prefer the truth o f God’s W ord to the suppositions of those who call themselves intellectuals.

The word in the original Hebrew in which the Old Testa ment was written was “ seventy sevens.” Seventy times seven makes 490 years ■— the time of God’s deal ing with Israel from the close of the Babylonian captivity unto the time when Christ comes to set up His kingdom. The 70th week is the on ly week not fulfilled as yet. God’s prophetic clock so far as the Jews were concerned s t o p p e d when Christ was crucified. Sixty-nine sevens of years had been ticked off. But it stopped, like an electric clock from which the cord has been pulled. A fter the crucifixion of Christ, Daniel’s people and Daniel’s holy city were set aside — not cast off — but set aside that the “ times of the Gentiles” might be com pleted. But the clock w ill start tick ing again at the rapture for then w ill God begin to deal with Israel as a nation and the time o f Jacob’s trouble, the great tribulation will begin on the earth. The End Times Q. I have been told that at the end times there will he four great con federacies. Please tell me what these are. A. The first one w ill be the con federacy of the West or the revived Roman Empire, headed b y the antichrist; the second, Russia, con trolling the confederacy o f the North; the third the confederacy of the East, called the “ sun-rising kingdom” ; and fourth, the coun tries south o f Palestine which will form the confederacy of the South. As the tribulation period draws to a close, the antichrist, ruling over the Western confederacy, w ill sub due the other three. M any Scrip tures make reference to these na tions and confederacies, especially
Wealth Belongs to Whom? Q. Does the world with its wealth belong to God or to Satan? A. The world and all it contains belongs to God. “ The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof” (Psa. 24: 1 ) . However, the devil and his people possess much of it. I own m y umbrella, but someone else possesses it. Christ w ill one day come and take possession, and the uttermost parts of the earth w ill he included in His kingdom. “ He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth” (Psa. 72:8). The 70 Weeks of Daniel Q. Is it true that the 70 weeks of Daniel have nothing to do with the Gentiles? A. Quite true. Note the words in Daniel 9:24: “ Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon the holy city, to finish the transgressions and to make an end o f sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in ever lasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the most H oly.” Daniel’s people and city were the Jews and Jerusalem and it is upon them the 70 weeks are determined or have to do. Seven Year Period Q. So often you refer to a period o f seven years. Is this what is known as the 70th week o f Daniel? A. Yes, this is the 70th week of Daniel, the last seven years of the 70 weeks o f seven years each, de scribed in Daniel 9:20-27. You w ill note 70 weeks are men tioned. These are not weeks o f days, but weeks o f years — seven years
