Les Nationals de Rockland ont obtenu quatre précieux points lors de leurs derniers matchs. Le 8 mars dernier, ils affrontaient les Bears de Smiths Falls à l’aréna CIH de Rockland. L’offensive de Rockland a vite fait d’attaquer la défensive de Smiths Falls, marquant à deux reprises. Matthew Vermae- ten, aidé de William Collins et Gunnar Smith ainsi que Cameron Last, aidé de Cole Craft et Jack Sullivan, ont tous deux comptés. Rockland a compté à quatre reprises au cours de la deuxième période. Craft, aidé de Connor Matton, l’assistant-capitaine Josh Norman, et Cameron Scrivens, aidés de Vermaeten et Nicholas Wildgoose ont compté, Scrivens à deux reprises. Malheu- reusement pour Rockland, l’attaquant des Bears, Fletcher Anderson, a marqué, aidé de Aaron Frenkel et Peter White. Aucune des deux équipes n’a marqué lors de la troisième période. The Castors clipped the Rockets 3-1 in last Friday night’s home opener at the Cla- rence Creek Arena. Kyle Green, Zack Lugli, and Vincent Martel scored singles for the home team. Assisting on the goal-scoring were Patrick Lemay, Nathan Melée, and Sam Paquette, with Corey Camirand guarding the net. Scoring for the Rockets was Kyle Collette, with help from Cameron Brown and Justin Lefebvre. Reilly Tondreau was in the net. The following Saturday at the Chesterville Arena, the Rockets got their first win in the series, 6-2, against the Castors. Clarence Creek goals came from Samuel Gaudet and Étienne Pease-Agius, with assists from Patrick Lemay, Vincent Martel, Nathan Melée, and Raphaël Payant, with Camirand in the goal. Kyle Collette punched in a pair of goals for North Dundas. Scoring singles were McKay Balaton, Cameron Brown, Justin Lefebvre, and Connor Roth. Assisting on the goals were Brown, Lefebvre, Roth, Tanner Barnett, Matthew Cowley, Hugo Lusignan, Brad Nash, Bradley Stitt, Jack van Kessel, and Jarrett Williams. Reilly Tondreau guarded the net. Sunday afternoon, back at the Clarence Creek Arena, the Castors clipped the Rockets again 4-2 with a pair of goals from Zack Lugli and singles by Aiden Cannell and Nathan Melée. Les Braves ne font pas le poids Le 10 mars dernier, Rockland faisait face aux Braves de Brockville à l’aréna CIH de Rockland. Rappelons que Brockville est l’une des meilleures équipes, avec 83 points. Les Nationals ont compté à deux reprises lors de la première période. Daniel Menges a marqué à deux reprises, aidé de David Lafrance, Griffin McGregor et Sullivan. En deuxième période, aucun but n’a été marqué. C’est en troisième que les joueurs de Rockland ont cimenté leur prise sur la partie. Norman, aidé de Lafrance et Aidan Graham ainsi que Craft, aidé de Labelle et Last ont tous deux compté. Rockland a donc remporté le match 4-0. « Je suis content pour les joueurs, car ils ont joué de l’excellent hockey. Ils ont été récompensés avec ces victoires, a fait valoir M. Sauvé. La semaine passée a été difficile. Nos gars jouaient du bon hockey, mais ils ont perdu trois fois par un but. Jouer devant nos partisans et sur notre propre glace a vraiment mis le vent dans nos voiles. »

Les Castors de Clarence Creek ont une avance de 2 à 1 sur les Rockets de North Dundas, à la suite des trois premiers matchs de leur série de demi-finales de la Ligue de hockey junior de la capitale nationale. to their semi-final series against the South Grenville Rangers in the National Capital Junior Hockey League. The Cougars beat the Rangers 5-2 in the opening game of the series March 9 at the Cardinal Arena. Hugo Blanchard and Trystan Lavoie both punched in a pair of goals for Vankleek Hill with Jonathan Lacroix tallying a single. Assis- ting on the goals were Blanchard, Samuel Lacroix, Nicolas Castonguay, and Jacob Trempe. Frederick Durocher and Alexander
Labrèche took turns guarding the net. Scoring for South Grenville were Cameron Dillon and Mathieu Giroux. Assisting on the goals was Braydan Forestall. Lee Spurgeon was in the net. Next games in the schedule between the Cougars and Rangers are March 12 at the Cardinal Arena, and March 12 and 15 at the Vankleek Hill Arena. If necessary, the series may continue on to March 16 at the Cardinal Arena, March 17 at Vankleek Hill, and March 19 back at the Cardinal Arena.
