Kennebec Road is currently rural in character, but many changes are planned for the future. From a capacity perspective, Kennebec Road currently functions at an acceptable level, and is anticipated to in the plan year of 2035, but the completion of a new high school makes multimodal accommodations a priority. The appropriate infrastructure and lighting can help promote active transportation as a means of commuting to school and reduce reliance on vehicular travel. Providing neighborhood connections to sidewalks and sidepaths from large subdivisions such as South Lakes and Partin Place will be critical.
