NEW HARMONY’S ATHENEUM Histor ic New Harmony’s Atheneum houses visi tor informat ion, the Museum Shop, and is the start ing point for thei r guided walking tours of histor ic structures. Located in one of the nat ion’s f i rst housing projects, Lincoln Gardens was bui l t in 1938 under President Roosevel t ’s New Deal Program and is now a museum celebrat ing the struggles, successes and exper iences of the Afr ican Amer ican cul ture in Evansvi l le over the past 80 years. REITZ HOME MUSEUM This Victor ian House Museum is si tuated in the heart of Evansvi l le’s Downtown Histor ic Preservat ion Distr ict . The Rei tz Home was bui l t in 1871 and is noted as one of the country’s f inest examples of French Second Empi re archi tecture.
CRESCENT CITY TATTOO MUSEUM On display is a col lect ion of Midwest-focused, ear ly Amer icana folk art including tat tooing design sheets, tat too t runks, and ephemera f rom the dawn of electr ic tat tooing start ing in the 1900’s through 1960s. This museum is a resul t of many years of research and col lect ing and is one of just 19 tat too museums in the country.
