6 Ways to Combat Winter Joint Pain The winter months bring the holidays and some of the most cheerful times of the year! However, winter also brings shorter and darker days, cold weather, and — for some — an increase in existing joint pain. In fact, when the temperatures drop and the snow falls, many people notice the pain in their joints becomes more apparent. If you fall into this category and feel that joint pain plagues you a little more in the colder weather, rest assured it isn’t just your imagination. Cold weather can cause your muscles to tense and tighten up (which is why it’s extra important to stretch before exercising in cooler weather). The increased tension leads to less movement, flexibility, and mobility in the joints, increasing the pain you feel. Remember, movement is medicine. WINTER MONTHS HAVE ARRIVED
