📚 BACK TO SCHOOL WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW This week marks the return to school for most students across Florida. Below is some important information, especially for those of you who are new to the state or the U.S. education system.

A QUICK OVERVIEW

In Florida, the school year typically begins in early to mid-August and ends in late May or early June. This schedule is standard for most public and private K– 12 schools (Kindergarten through 12th grade), which includes students aged roughly 5 to 18 years old. Many of our colleagues are parents or guardians, and this time of year often comes with adjusted schedules, school drop-offs, pickups, and after-school activities.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Even if you don’t have school-aged children, here’s why this week matters: Increased Traffic: Expect heavier traffic near school zones during drop-off and pickup times. School buses are back on the roads, and speed limits are strictly enforced. Drive Safely : Florida law requires you to stop for school buses loading or unloading children (unless on a divided highway in the opposite direction).

TIPS FOR THIS WEEK

Allow extra commute time —especially during peak hours. Use caution near schools and crosswalks. Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs through August 18— take advantage of tax-free savings on school supplies, clothing, and electronics.

The opening of our beautiful new clubhouse is just around the corner, and we want everyone to stay engaged and informed!

LEADING WITH HOSPITALITY

In alignment with our vision to provide industry-leading hospitality, this week’s focus was on crew etiquette across key areas of our operations. This meeting centered on reinforcing respectful, professional behavior in all workspaces and generating ideas to help us grow as a leader in the hospitality industry. Key takeaways: Golf Course Etiquette – Show respect for golfers by minimizing noise and avoiding interruptions during play. Workplace Conduct – Maintain cleanliness, be punctual, present a professional appearance, and use courteous communication in shared spaces. Team Excellence – Recognize how every role contributes to delivering top-tier service and an exceptional guest experience. The discussion also underscored the ongoing collaboration between all departments to improve operations and strengthen communication. By working together, we continue to build a stronger, more unified team—one that embodies hospitality at every level. KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS WEEK’S CREW ETIQUETTE MEETING

LEADING WITH HOSPITALITY

HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT

Team Building Meeting

The Housekeeping Department came together for a special morale-boosting team building meeting, thoughtfully organized by Adrian Watson. The goal? To strengthen teamwork, celebrate hard work, and create a space for open communication and positivity. The meeting featured fun team-building activities, open-floor discussions, and moments of well- deserved recognition. Laughter, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose filled the room, reminding everyone of the vital role housekeeping plays in the success of our organization. The energy and camaraderie from the discussion will no doubt carry through in the great work our housekeeping team continues to deliver every day!

LEADING WITH HOSPITALITY TURNING A CHALLENGE INTO A TEAM TRIUMPH

Moments of challenge often become opportunities to showcase our teamwork and commitment to excellence.

This week, an unexpected delivery of 500 banquet chairs could have been a daunting task—but it quickly became a shining example of collaboration in action. With all hands on deck, team members from multiple departments jumped in to help unload the chairs swiftly and efficiently. Each person stepped up without hesitation, bringing energy, cooperation, and a positive spirit. This unity reflects exactly what makes our team special—and why we consistently deliver exceptional service to our members. By supporting one another and working together, we turn big challenges into shared successes. That’s the heart of hospitality in action.

LEADING WITH HOSPITALITY Following the successful event hosted by the Food & Beverage department, this week it’s the Housekeeping team’s turn to hit the track! In line with our ongoing commitment to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, the Housekeeping department participated in a team-building go-karting activity designed to strengthen bonds across the team. Much like the previous event, this activity aims to break down daily routine barriers and encourage open communication, trust, and teamwork among staff members. By coming together outside the usual work setting, the Housekeeping team will have the opportunity to build stronger connections, enhance mutual respect, and boost morale — all of which are key to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and comfort our guests expect.
