1989, I bought a small apartment at Lake Emerald, a large artificial freshwater lake. I had a few roommates until I was comfortable enough to live alone. I dated a few girls during these years and met my wife, Diane while living here. At one point, I had a menagerie of animals in the apartment: A free-roaming 6’ boa constrictor snake that hung out next to the long light on the fish tank; a large freshwater fish tank; a pair of large iguanas that hung by their claws on the screened patio all day and had eggs in a nearby
potted plant; a blue front parrot; and to top it off an Asteroids Video game filled up the small kitchen. In this painting, you see one of my snakes I placed in the pool for exercise! Signed, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Stephen Shooster
