In 1979, while studying at the University of Florida, College of Art, Drawing 101, I created a still life of a brown paper bag. The composition includes a dark-colored juice jar, cow head bones, drapery, and metal artist easels. The drawing is handled with charm and skill. The brown paper bag is slightly wrinkled. The paper bag created a void in the center of the composition. Overall, it is an excellent student studio drawing.
Art school provides artists with various exercises to hone their skills and develop their artistic vision. Still-life drawing is a common exercise that allows artists to practice their observational skills and experiment with composition, texture, and form. In this drawing, I demonstrated my ability to capture the details and nuances of the objects before me while also creating a visually interesting composition.
