“Baby I’m Amazed” is a painting of the furniture in the art studio. The top is used to store student works, and the student rack is used to store paintings; being in an art room, it is covered in paint. I used a combination of oils and cutouts like Picasso’s and Guernica’s, two men jumping as if into a lake, a jet plane, a horse, a man holding a bow and
arrow, and people congregating on a grassy field. The slogan, ‘Baby, I’m Amazed,’ is painted on the wall.’ This is a mistake, as it should say, “Maybe I’m Amazed,” which is a tribute to Paul McCartney. In 1989, “Maybe, I’m Amazed” would become our wedding song. The painting did not survive the overly judgmental days of college.
