New converter Board Members include: Elizabeth Pecha-Poelker, Owner of PrintFlex Graph- ics; John Wynne, CEO, Fortis Solutions Group; and Michelle Zeller, CFO and COO of AWT Labels & Pack- aging. The newly elected supplier Board Member is Linnea Keen,VP Sales,Americas, at UPM Raflatac. During the banquet at the close of the Annual Meet- ing, Craig Moreland, President and CEO of Coast Label Company, handed over the association’s Chair- manship to Michael Ritter, Controller at I.D. Images. Other new officer announcements include Lori Campbell, COO,The Label Printers, as Chairman Elect and Tim McDonough, President, Flexo-Graphics, as Vice Chairman. Conver ter Of The Year Joel Carmany, President of Consolidated Label, was named TLMI Converter of the Year at TLMI’s annual meeting.The Converter of the Year Award honors and recognizes a member of the North American package printing industry who has made an extensive contribu- tion to the greater marketplace and who has additional- ly demonstrated an unwavering commitment toTLMI. Thirty-four years ago, Joel Carmany purchased a fledgling label company on the outskirts of Orlan- do, Florida. At the time, the company’s sole applica- tion was hot-stamped pressure sensitive labels. Today, Carmany stands at the helm of one of the most prominent, and profitable, narrow web pack- aging companies in the North American market- place. Consolidated Label was one of the earliest Internet-based label-printing providers. Carmany and his son, David, had the foresight to know that bringing ordering capability online in a time when nearly no other label converters in the country
