Suburban Office Land providing opportunities to concentrate employment in the Town on normal workdays. They include both large-scale isolated buildings with numerous employees as well as areas containing multiple businesses that support and serve one another. They are typically buffered from surrounding development by transitional uses or landscaped areas, and are often located in close proximity to major highways or thoroughfares.

Open Spaces & Natural Resources New or redeveloped office parks should include a common green and other public spaces throughout the development to encourage active use by employees during normal workdays. Lot Size & Building Placement Lot size and building placement vary depending on development scale and land uses served. Most buildings are located adjacent to large surface parking lots. Buildings are encouraged to face the street when possible. Street & Block Pattern Blocks are large and may not have a discernible block structure because of the development scale or access requirements for specific buildings. Parking is provided in surface parking lots surrounding the building. New and redeveloped Suburban Office areas should include a system of walkable internal streets.

Building Types & Massing Buildings are generally one (1) to five (5) stories tall with small- to large-building footprints.

Transportation Considerations Streets are generally auto-oriented. New or redeveloped office areas should accommodate safe and efficient pedestrian or bicycle movements throughout and between the sites. Curb and gutter infrastructure and formal street tree planting are used in new Suburban Office areas.
