Nudgeathon At WBS, our Behavioural Science group developed the concept of ‘Nudgeathon’ in 2015, in order to help organisations develop effective solutions for problems they are encountering through co-creation exercise. By leveraging the combined power of diversity, expert knowledge, “insider” knowledge, and open group interaction we create new ideas and stress test them. Nudgeathon is a powerful tool for qualitative research as well as problem solving. So far the WBS team have run more than twenty Nudgeathons across four continents, and are ready to work with you through a custom programme to develop a Nudgeathon tailored to your organisation. What is it? Nudgeathon is a two-stage crowdsourcing event in which decision groups draw on insights and methods from psychology, economics, design and the performing arts to produce implementable solutions to major problems involving human behaviour. Behavioural science is an established approach to understanding human behavioural change, drawing on insights and methods from psychology, economics and neuroscience. It recognises that people often make decisions intuitively and with little conscious awareness, are highly resistant to change, and unless prompted otherwise will choose the path of least resistance.

Insights from behavioural science are being applied

more and more both in the public and business arenas, so this is a real chance for people to get inspired and learn more about the science.” Daniel Read Professor of Behavioural Science
