Stay Safe and Prepared 5 SUMMER ROAD TRIP TIPS
Preset the navigation. To avoid fumbling with your car or phone GPS while driving, plug in your destination before departing. One perk of doing so is that you’ll have an accurate idea of your arrival time. Pack an emergency kit. Whether you go camping, encounter an emergency, or stub your toe at the gas station, having an emergency kit full of first aid supplies is always a good idea. Take breaks. While arriving as quickly as possible (without speeding, of course) is up there along with safety on the list of your summer road trip priorities, it’s important to take breaks along the way to stretch your legs, grab a bite to eat, and rest up! Your eyes and mind can get tired — avoiding fatigue and tunnel vision is paramount!
Do you feel that? As summer quickly approaches, it’s starting to warm up outside, and with that comes more trips, vacations, and road trips! If a road trip is on your summer agenda this year, be sure to stay safe with these preparation tips! Perform regularly scheduled maintenance. Before hitting the road, have your car serviced. You should get a routine inspection, oil change, and tire rotation performed to catch any potential problems before you get left stranded on the side of the road or in a dangerous situation. Scope out the weather. Knowing what weather conditions to expect before they catch you by surprise can help you decide the best route to take as well as avoid potential hazards certain elements can present. Keep in mind that the weather changes often, so be sure to keep an eye on it throughout your travels!
