ORPS Family Motor Coach Association

New members Potluck Supper Benefits Balloons and Boats

Welcome back to the Desert and a very special welcome to our newest family , Dan and Val Hannah from Tacoma Washington. They reside on Lot 883. We are glad you are with us. So who can be a member of the FMCA? The answer is any family or person with a Motor Coach or a towable RV may join the FMCA; 5th wheel or Travel Trailer and former RV owners alike, RV vendors and manufacturers too. So your RV no longer needs to have a “Motor”. There are over 400 FMCA clubs across the US and Canada. Some chapters are regional specific, some chapters are virtual; some based on your RV manufacturer or model, some revolve around interests like amateur radio or rallying in Canada or Mexico. You will find applications near the mailroom in El Saguaro. Just some of the Benefits include Emergency Medical Assistance as needed, mail forwarding, travel assistance in the event of an issue, discount tires for your RV, truck or car, a huge network of friends and a totally informative hard copy or downloaded magazine. The FMCA North America parent club dues are $85 for a Family membership. Local dues are $25 for ORPS FMCA. New members will also need to purchase a name tag to prevent the question, “ Who are you anyway?” or the proverbial “I forgot your name”. What are we doing in the near future? We have the East Room and Kitchen La Palma Club House reserved on Wednesday Nov 20 for our 1st Potluck supper. On Friday Nov 22 from 3PM - 7PM, weather permitting a hot air balloon glow on the golf green down from La Palma. This is a joint venture with ORPS Lifestyle & Events Office and your own FMCA Vice President and Pilot Jeff Buchman. On Saturday Nov 23 find Jeff flying and the balloon groupies at the annual Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival . On December 7, we have two considerations: (A) overnight to Dana Point Harbor Boating Parade of Lights near San Juan Capistrano CA or (B) stay local and tour Palm Springs Festival of Lights downtown. Who are we? We are 55 families strong. On November 10, 2019 these Marines celebrated their 244th birthday. Many thanks to George and Sandy Holquin for putting it together. We had a great dinner at Bella Roma followed by a delicious cake. This group told their stories and it was a terrific to learn about their experiences. Hoorah!!
