Craft sale season is already in full swing in the area. Laggan Public School staged an“Extravaganza” last Saturday, when a bake and craft sale gave shoppers the op- portunity to peruse 19 tables offering everything from 10,000 Villages items to homemade soap.

Containers were being quickly filled with waste electronics and electrical equipment Saturday during a drop-off day at Laggan Public School. People from across the re- gion took advantage of the collection, notes Iris Clark, chair of the school council which will use funds raised during the event to buy new books. Residents brought in unwanted computers, televisions, stereos and other electronics for safe disposal in partnership with the Ontario Electronics Stewardship.

“There are some really great new artists and crafters in this area and we are pleased to showcase their creations at this event.” Highlighting this year’s fair is Blanche Renard, with her second book in the Emi- lie Brosseau series titled “The Trouble with Friday.” Among many others, you’ll find Alison Barton and her “Bartoons,” Reenie Marx and her photography, Helen Char- bonneau’s printings and Robert Carrière’s game boards.
