SS Visits attended the Grand Opening of Chuck Lombardo’s California Street Rods 19,000 sq.ft. new facility. It was one of the largest, most impressive street rod emporiums in the country.
In Industry News, future Total Performance franchise owners and a group of Pro-Street T owners met for their 1st meeting about the company’s new franchising program. A total of at least 7 new franchises were expected by the year end.
Dear Lady’s Woman Beside the Man met LeAnne Larson wife of NSRA West Central Division Director Jim Larson. She was a member of the Street Rod Nationals Gate Crew for several years.

Hercules Motor Car Company of Tampa, FL, proudly advertised their “New Generation Woodies” that won the 1996 NSRA Street Rod Product of the Year.
SS Visits met Rick Gero of Evolution Auto in Port Byron, IL. Rick (L) and his wife Janis (R) started the business in 1995 building turn-key rods. Rick connected with two fiberglass body manufacturers, Wild Rod & Oze Rod Show, becoming a dealer and using their bodies for many of his customers.

In Express Lane, Superior Glass Works had a new look, thanks to new owners Brad & Donna Peterson. In business for 30 years Superior was the leading manufacturer of fiberglass parts for ’31-55 Chevy cars and trucks.
