Who We Are
The Navigators are a group of passionate, community-driven professionals who volunteer their time to support the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce and its members. As the friendly, welcoming faces of the Chamber, we ensure our members feel supported, engaged, and connected. Our mission is to foster a positive, vibrant business community by representing both our own businesses and the Chamber with pride and enthusiasm. While our roles are diverse, our core focus is simple: to champion Chamber members and contribute to the success of events and initiatives. From greeting new and existing members with a warm welcome to assisting with ribbon cuttings and attending key events, Navigators build lasting relationships and serve as liaisons for member-to-member engagement in the greater Hartselle area.

NAVIGATOR Program
Navigator Requirements To ensure that all Navigators have a fulfilling and productive experience, we’ve set clear guidelines for participation:
Complete Navigator Orientation before starting the program.
Attend key events, including ribbon cuttings, monthly meetings, and special events. If you can’t attend, inform your Pathway Partner in advance. Missing more than two consecutive events may impact your participation for the remainder of your term. Support Chamber staff at various events and functions.
Welcome new businesses to the area and help celebrate milestones like grand openings or relocations.
Promote fellow Chamber members and keep the Chamber updated on any changes in member businesses.
Represent the Chamber with a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions.
Actively engage in introducing future members to the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce.

NAVIGATOR Program
Eligibility
To become a Navigator, you must be an employee, owner, or representative of a Hartselle Area Chamber member in good standing. Interested individuals must read the Navigator Handbook and submit a formal application. The program director and leadership team will review applications and select participants. Navigator Investment & Uniform Guidelines Annual Fee : $150 program registration fee (paid by the individual or their business; separate from membership fees). Uniform Requirements : Business casual attire (khaki pants, dress slacks, or skirts; collared shirts). Branded clothing representing your business is encouraged. Chamber Badges are required for all public- facing events; business nametags can be worn in addition to your Chamber Badge. Meetings Quarterly Navigator meetings cover member updates, upcoming events, and other important topics (e.g., Talk of the Town, member prospects). Additional discussions may be added as needed.

Leadership Structure
The Chair of the Pathway Partners is elected annually by the Navigators and serves from May 1 to April 30. The Chair leads meetings in coordination with the Compass Keeper Committee, overseeing event participation and team dynamics. At the start of each fiscal year, the Chair will appoint four Pathway Partners to lead teams of Navigators. Each team is responsible for engaging with Chamber members, organizing calls and visits, and encouraging active participation. The team with the highest points at the end of the year will be honored during the awards luncheon, inducted into the hall of fame, and given the opportunity to remain on the same team for the next year.

Recognition Program
Participation is tracked through a point system, and active involvement leads to recognition, including the prestigious Navigator of the Year award.
Submit a Lead that Converts to a Membership – 50 points
Ribbon Cuttings – 25 points
Chamber Events & Seminars – 10 points per ticketed guest
Rise and Resolve – 5 points per guest
Member Visit – 5 points (must update Chamber staff)
Each Call Summary – 5 points
Each Meeting Attended – 3 points
Points are reviewed and approved at each Compass Keeper Committee meeting, with the Navigator of the Year being honored at the Annual Meeting.

Navigator Bylaws
Membership Requirements: Navigators must be active members of the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, with dues up-to-date.
Team Structure: The program consists of 32 members, divided into four teams. Each team has a designated Pathway Partner to guide and motivate their members. Leadership Appointments: The Chairperson and Pathway Partners are appointed annually. The Chairperson oversees the selection of new Pathway Partners and ensures the program runs smoothly. Code of Conduct: Navigators are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism, both in person and online, at all Chamber events and interactions.
Passing Votes: Compass Keeper quorum votes require four approval votes to pass.
If you miss more than two consecutive meetings without a valid reason, your participation will be reassessed, and you may be asked to reapply after the current term.
